Photography Lessons

Private Tutoring in Photography and Lightroom
Are you ready to improve your photography? I'd love to help you capture the special moments in your life and realize your artistic vision.

With custom photography tutoring, lessons are tailored to your needs and interests. Maybe you'd like to learn the basics of composition to take better pictures with any camera, whether with a smartphone, point and shoot camera or DSLR. Ever wonder why a picture didn't turn out? Bring it to your lesson and learn solutions. Confused by aperture, ISO, shutter speed and the exposure triangle? Get to know them and know just what you'll need for any situation.

Software is essential to digital photography, and I'd love to help you select programs that meet your needs for organizing and developing your digital photos and sharing them in photo books, prints,  or online.  I've taught software such as Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to pros and enthusiasts from age 12 to 70+. Some students just need a bit of help managing a catalog snafu or have a very specific need. Others have a more general interest in improving skills over time.
Quick, Solid Progress
Students progress quickly with personal tutoring that is customized to their interests and unique challenges. My lessons are personalized to address a student's current needs, yet soundly constructed to serve the student well as higher levels of mastery are obtained.

Patient, Empathetic Style
Students have told me they appreciate the way I simplify complex topics.  I love sharing insights that have helped my students make sense of photography and Lightroom.  We'll cover material at your pace and in such a way that it is immediately applicable to your needs and interests.
Reviews from Prior Students
"Incredibly Helpful"
Cindy was incredibly helpful, and really went "above and beyond" in every way. She's extremely knowledgeable and did a tremendous amount of research in order to supplement her work on this job. Saved me many, many hours of potential aggravation — I will definitely continue to rely on her for expertise with all things Lightroom/Photoshop/PostProduction for photography. Highly recommended!

"Computer Challenged student gives her 5 stars plus!"
Cindy was very patient and worked well with my low computer skill level. The class was very informative and fun. I believe we hit it off right away. I can't wait for my next class.

"Very patient."
Cindy was able to untangle my Lightroom 6 update snarl with patience and humor. She has an excellent grip on the mechanics of Lightroom and communicates well. I recommend her highly.

"Excellent"
Contacted Cindy a few months ago to help me to put together a slide show, clean up my photos, To say that I'm technically inept would be a compliment. At my age (you don't want to know) just about all these new programs give me the shakes. I was using a rather basic photo program and she recommend I take a look at Adobe Lightroom. I was notified that it would look a bit intimidating and was pretty aggressive.  That was an understatement. Well, it's been a couple months now and I think the Adobe LR program is absolutely terrific. I've become quite proficient and the program is so inclusive that I'm sure, despite how far I've come along, it will always be able to do what I need with the help of Cindy.

She has been very responsive, knowledgeable, organized and very patient. My lessons will be ongoing (every two weeks) and will build upon a strong foundation.

Highly recommend Cindy.
